Since 1979, school administrators have joined together through SCASA for professional support and development. See below for the important benefits SCASA has to offer.











Advocacy - SCASA provides a unified voice for administrators at the State House. With our full time lobbying team, we are there each day that the legislature meets to monitor debate, provide testimony, and speak personally with legislators on the issues that are important to public education. Career Center - Your destination for exciting School Administration & Education job opportunities and the best resource for qualified School Administration & Education candidates in South Carolina. Conferences and Workshops - Each year SCASA conferences and workshops offer outstanding opportunities to hear national speakers and local education practitioners, network with colleagues, and other career enhancing opportunities. The Innovative Ideas Institute (i3) offered by SCASA is the premier professional development conference and the largest of its kind held in the southeastern United States. This Instititue is held annually in June of each year. In addition to receiving a significant registration fee discount of $195, attending members may seek to obtain graduate university credit or continuing education points with their district. Affiliates (Divisions) and Committees - SCASA has ten divisions and six standing committees. Members may elect to join one of ten SCASA Affiliates (Divisions) which represent areas of school administration. All members are encouraged to be involved in their division area. SCASA's division committees deal with specific issues and concerns affecting that division or area of school administration. The Division Roundtable Meeting registration is free for SCASA members. Leadership Development - Through the Center for Executive Education Leadership SCASA provides superior professional development opportunities to grow and enhance leadership skills. These comprehensive two-year institute series are aimed at specifically meeting the unique needs of South Carolina’s future education executive leaders. [Return to top]
Legal Assistance - SCASA has a legal support program which provides members one and one-half hours of legal consultation with attorneys retained by SCASA for issues that occurred during the period of active membership. [Return to top]
National Associations - In addition to the state level activity, SCASA is involved in advocacy at the national level. Through AASA, NASSP, and NAESP, the Association communicates regularly with our legislators in Washington on educational issues. To ensure South Carolina’s voice is heard, SCASA members participate in several federal relations conferences each year. We encourage you to join the appropriate national association through SCASA. National Recognition Opportunities - SCASA awards open to members include State and National Superintendent, Principal, and Assistant Principal of the Year. SCASA recognizes the outstanding District Administrator and administers the SCASA Lifetime Achivement Award for outstanding administrators. Opportunities for Involvement - SCASA offers members many opportunities to network and get involved in national policy issues and participate in the governance of the association. The Innovative Ideas Institute provides opportunities to present and volunteer.
