Work of Leaders

September 9, 2016
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
River Center at Saluda Shoals Park

This program is based on a four-year research effort that includes the analysis and distilling of the work of leadership development researchers for the past three decades.  Course content provides an in-depth look at the actual factors predictive of effective leadership.  The full-day session will provide robust information on three specific competency buckets that define the fundamental "work of leaders", using the results of each participant's pre-work assessment results as comparative data to consider against the best practices.

Registered participants will receive a link to the assessment instrument with a deadline to respond prior to the scheduled workshop.

The Art of Influencing Others

October 26, 2016
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
River Center at Saluda Shoals Park
Columbia, SC

Influence is a tool of the successful - the ability to improve working relationships and increase opportunities to see your ideas grow.   Being able to win others to your way of thinking increases your ability to affect outcomes.  Too often we assume only leaders with line authority can affect change.  Believe it or not, some leaders do not have the ability to influence, and some people without authority have a great deal of influence!  Clearly, influencing goes beyond positions of power and encompasses more subtle skills like empathy and active listening.  It is rooted in effective communication skills and self-understanding.  Learning how to demonstrate authenticity and integrity through your interactions with others and how to have a strong sense of self-awareness lays the groundwork for mastering the art of influence.
