SEMINAR SERIES: Telling Your Story: Effective Communication for Your School or District
Date(s): March 12, 2019
Time: 9:30 AM EST - 12:00 PM EST
All schools and districts have their own stories to tell—and the tools to shape how those stories are heard! As school leaders, you have the ability to influence the narratives that drive discussion in your community and to help steer those conversations using proven communications tools and approaches.
In this seminar, we’ll learn from news makers and communications directors on how those stories are told from start to finish. Participants will have the opportunity hear about how newspapers and television stations source stories, how to best prepare for interviews, as well as how to communicate news with the press. We’ll also discuss working within existing communications structures at the district level, providing information to parents and the community, and using best practices in sharing good and bad news.
Join us for this session, as we identify techniques to help to guide your school or district’s communications effectively and efficiently. We’ll have ample time for Q&A and discussion amongst the group at the end of each presentation. This session and the practices discussed will be beneficial to any school or district leader with a story to tell.
