Advocacy - SCASA provides a unified voice for administrators at the State House. With our full time lobbying team, we are there each day that the legislature meets to monitor debate, provide testimony, and speak personally with legislators on the issues that are important to public education. You will receive weekly legislative updates by email as the session unfolds. Alerts will be sent when necessary.
Career Center - Your destination for exciting School Administration & Education job opportunities and the best resource for qualified School Administration & Education candidates in South Carolina. You may also use SCASA’s Career Center for listing job openings to attract the most qualified professionals in South Carolina to your school.
Conferences and Workshops - Each year SCASA conferences and workshops offer outstanding opportunities to hear national speakers and local education practitioners, network with colleagues, and other career enhancing opportunities. The Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) offered by SCASA is the premier professional development conference and the largest of its kind held in the southeastern United States. SLI is held annually in June of each year beginning on Father’s Day. In addition to receiving a significant registration fee discount of $175, attending members may seek to obtain graduate university credit or continuing education points with their district.
Divisions and Committees - SCASA has ten divisions and six standing committees. Members may elect to join one of ten SCASA divisions which represent areas of school administration. All members are encouraged to be involved in their division area. SCASA's division committees deal with specific issues and concerns affecting that division or area of school administration. The Division Roundtable Meetings are for SCASA members only.
Division Discussion Board - Talk directly with colleagues in your division and share ideas, ask questions, and network. Only SCASA members in your division have access to your division’s discussion board. The Division On-line Discussion Boards are for SCASA members only.
Insurance – SCASA members are provided $10,000 coverage for accidental death and dismemberment.
Leadership Development - Through the Emerging and Executive Leadership Academies, SCASA provides superior professional development opportunities to grow and enhance leadership skills. These comprehensive two-year institute series are aimed at specifically meeting the unique needs of South Carolina’s future education executive leaders.
Legal Assistance - SCASA has a legal support program which provides members one and one-half hours of legal consultation with attorneys retained by SCASA for issues that occurred during the period of active membership.
National Associations - In addition to the state level activity, SCASA is involved in advocacy at the national level. Through AASA, NASSP, and NAESP, the Association communicates regularly with our legislators in Washington on educational issues. To ensure South Carolina’s voice is heard, SCASA members participate in several federal relations conferences each year. We encourage you to join the appropriate national association through SCASA. You will receive the million dollar liability coverage.
National Recognition Opportunities - SCASA awards open to members include State and National Superintendent, Principal, and Assistant Principal of the Year. SCASA recognizes the outstanding District Administrator and administers the William B. Harley Award for outstanding administrators. The Carolina First Palmetto's Finest Award recognizes outstanding school systems in South Carolina.
Opportunities for Involvement - SCASA offers members many opportunities to network and get involved in national policy issues and participate in the governance of the association. The Summer Leadership Institute provides opportunities to present and volunteer. Members have access to publishing opportunities through SCASA publications and to volunteer on various SCASA committees.
Publications and On-Line Video - SCASA produces the Insight and Hot off the Bench newsletters (electronically transmitted) and the Palmetto Administrator and "Voice of SCASA" (on-line video update). Through these publications and our video update, members are provided news, analysis and timely information related to the interests, needs, and daily work of school system leaders.

SCASA members receive by email a quarterly newsletter, Hot off the Bench, prepared by Education Research Service. This newsletter highlights recent court rulings that are essential for school officials.

SCASA publications are The Insight, a bi-monthly electronic publication, keeps members abreast of local happenings.

The Palmetto Administrator, an award winning magazine, is published annually during each fall. Articles, often written by SCASA members, provide in-depth and timely information about a wide range of school and district administrative issues.

"Voice of SCASA" is a live on-line video update (located on SCASA's home page).
Membership Renewals: Membership renewals are sent to individual members by email during March. If you did not receive your individual membership renewal, please email SCASA Membership. Member who join though an institutional group plan are not sent individual membership renewals as their renewals is included in the group plan.
